yes We were right up at the top and I couldn't make out what some of the songs were until half way through.

It was the same with Muse, Wembley just wasn't meant to be a music venue.

Sounds crap even on Radio 1, and one assumes direct recording as well. But getting acoustics right in large open-air venues must be pretty difficult, I would imagine. Never been to a big gig I was truly impressed with - examples Knebworth, Hyde Park, Old Wembley Stadium.
Ergo, I don't buy or listen to live albums. If I wasn't there, what is the point?

Sounds like their last couple of albums thenwink Hope it didn't spoil the show too much.

Don't get me wrong, I like them a lot. But in my opinion they're losing their hearing if the mixing is anything to go by. Then again, maybe I'm losing mine...

listened on the radio this morning to a couple of tracks, and it seemed like the lead singer had to over emphasis the lyrics just to make them stand out, and there seemed to be an awful lot of echo.

I thought Wembly had been specifically designed accoustically for holding such concerts....???

There was no echo. The sound wasn't bad. Certainly better than most big concerts I've been to in recent years.

As usual though, the support acts got a very poor deal from the mixing desk.

Wembley has absolutely ste acoustics - I was there for Metallica, and it was atrocious. My sister was there the week before for the live earth gigs, and she thought it was dire.

There was obviously no thought given to the acoustics on the design - its a sports stadium and nothing else really.

Shame, as I went to a fairly big gig at the old (real?) wembley years back, and it was absolutely stunning.

Sounds like when I saw Alice Cooper at NEC, horrible horrible venue, rattled like a tin cow shed.

we walked out of the Muse gig, it was unbearable, the place is too big and the sounds echoes all round, I believe if you are down by the front stage it's ok but that's about it

Used to be able to. Saw him at Reading Festival about 6 years ago and they were great

Because it's bks, don't know where he got his from and I can't remember exactly how much it was (£4ish) but I'd certainly have noticed if some arse tried to charge me that much.

it was £3.60 for a plastic bottle of p1ss-warm carlsberg.

I was in the 2nd teir on friday night and the sound was utter ste. Boomy and no clarity at all. I was really disappointed at the whole experience to be honest. The sound got marginally better towards the end but it was hardly the mind-blowing eardrum bursting event i was expecting.

I'm guessing those moshing in the crowds up the front got a better quailty sound. They were getting cups of piss/beer thown over them every 2 minutes from people futher back though so not so sure it was worth ithehe

Maybe the saturday show had a better deal?

Awesome gig, but even down on the field I could really notice the echo. It meant the guitar riffs just sounded a bit like a mush of noise, and as someone has already said it was difficult to tell some songs until half way through. We started off around the side of the stage, and it was even worse there, so even though we were really close I just had to move as I assumed it would be better at the front - it was a bit better but still echoey.

Don't think they'll be playing anything smaller in the future though frown Years ago I saw them at the Leeds Town and Country club... 3000 people!
