How bloody good is ther Back in Black album?
Discussion
I couldn't believe how poor Johnson was when I heard his efforts with AC/DC. Geordie were a third rate band anyway, but I kind of thought that the band saw something in him. Bon Scott had fantastic personality that made AC/DC what they were. His 'sleazy' image made them the required bit different.....
Different enough to give them the edge neccessary to draw attention to them. You can see the same 'Rock'n'Roll Outlaws'(reference intended..LOL!) attitude in Rose Tattoo, and to some extent in Airbourne.
Brian Johnson moved them in a direction that was away from AC/DC and that 'dance band' feel and into a less defined hard rock area....
Which is fine for some, but I think it was a shame.

But the singer's a screamer. Very much a 'cartoon' rock singer, the late Bon Scott was simply in a different league, particularly live.
wot he sed i like Jonner and i like Back in Black very much, but Powerage is THE Acca Dacca album IMO!
also if its the ultimate Bon ear bashing you seek "If You Want Blood..." it has to be!

Back in Black is still a damn fine piece of work and is always in the car.

BiB was played on radio 1 yesterday early PM.
always great to hear R1 play stuff that usually gets played at 2am - if at all.
I think the rock show host was covering or something.
followed by Take That....go figure....
The rock show DJ took over for a few hours and was a refreshing change. Only downside was that Tim Westwood followed for 2 hours of unspeakably bad garbage. Anyways, always seen AC/DC as a bit of a one trick pony, but this album is a bona fide classicalways great to hear R1 play stuff that usually gets played at 2am - if at all.
