One of my favorite albums, four brilliant musicians and a bloke with quite a good voice that to me sounds as good now as when it was first released.

Early Yes was particularly good>

Must admit, I listened to Awaken the other day, and had forgotten just how good it was.

I'm a fan of Yes. They're about to tour the US with Rick's son Oliver on keyboards. I'm hoping that they'll follow that with a European Tour. Even better would be a new album.

Scrap that, the tour's off because Jon Anderson is ill.

Sorry to say I'm a (fat) old bd but Yes were one of the first bands I was "in to" back in the 70's.
I've always liked their music even though, like me, it's been out of fashion for 30 years.
Is it coming back?
Do I care?

Last time I saw them live was in about 1975!!!

I've just bought the "live in Montreux" Blu-ray disc and I must say It's just superb. They really are superb musicians.

John

Me too. Saw them at QPR in 1975 and Wembley in 76 and 77. More recently I saw an incarnation in about 1990 when they seemed in a sort of limbo. Went off them for years but have got back into Yes again over the last 3 to 4 years. Drove down to see Rick Wakeman at the Buxton Opera House last November.
I am one of the few who always enjoyed Tales from Topgraphic Oceans despite its various faults.

Last saw them at Manchester Apollo when Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes were in the line-up.

as much as i enjoy the 70's albums - i do really love the Magnification album from 2001. big prog album, with orcestra backing.

ps - Rick Wakeman's saturday morning slot on Planet Rock is an excellent listen smile

Alice Cooper on Planet Rock (DAB) plays a track from this most mornings - would n't have thought he was a fan!

Pretentious but still great listening.

What was with the floating plastic head on the cover?
