Having always had a penchant for rockier blues, and only recently discovering Walter Trout, has anyone got any recommenadations for other artists that I have blindly ignored ?

Guy at work is a huge blues fan and has mixed a sampler cd for me, but its without info, although I know it features the likes of Jeff Healey.

What have I missed ?

Joe Bonamassa is fantastic, as are a band I recently discovered in a copy of Guitarist called The Black Keys. Just the sort of thing I enjoy listening to so I was chuffed to have stumbled across them. music

Edited to make sense.

Bit of a ZZ completist here...got the lot.

Not sure on Rory G.

Joe Bonmassa, yes, very good.

Keep 'em coming, the more obscure the better !

Like Bad to the Bone from Terminator? buy anything from George Thoroughgood and the Delaware Destroyers

Dark Night by The Blasters

The Black Crowes

Nine Below Zero

early Dr Feelgood

Dick Dale if you like it slightly rockabilly a la Pulp Fiction

Robin Trower

Believe it or not, Piledriver by Status Quo is bloody good, I wouldn't piss on any of their other stuff

There is shedloads from bands like CCR, Canned Heat etc

Scott Henderson (also check out the stuff he did with Victor Wooten under the name Vital Tech Tones. Bit more towards prog/jazz but some amazing stuff). Robben Ford too.

Proper R'n'B of the very finest quality.

I'd add The Pirates from the '80s onwards featuring the awesome power of Mick Green's Tele. yes

My default suggestion for blues is Aynsley Lister. Not especially rocky, but very talented.

How about Buddy Guy?

At the risk of stating the obvious... Hendrix?

More notable for Bonzo's epic skin bashing!

OK, the next one aint exactly "rocking" blues, but - by f!!ck - if you want to hear the blues played directly via the soul, it does not get any better.
