Don't want much, do you ?driving through the alps on a sunny summer's day with a beautiful woman in the passenger seat on your way to the med.
To be honest, there are no answers to such questions. Even if an individual has favourites, this does not equate with "bests".
Indeed, when it comes to singing, there are so many categories of singing that no one singer can be best.
I love listening to classical tenors - but I hate when they "cross over" and try to turn pop (or even musical) numbers to a classical style. This all started back in 1985 with the "calssical" version of "West Side Story" which featured Kiri Te Kanewaw and Jose Carreras. Both great singers, but unsuited to the type of singing required for a show like that.
I like Rod Stewart, but I don't like his renditions of classic "crooner" balads.

I presume you mean best 'rock' vocalist. If so ...
Paul Rodgers and John Fogerty come to mind. Bruce Springsteen in full flight has an impressive set of pipes.
Did someone say Liam Gallagher? Surely not the one-octave-shouty-wannabe-Beatle who has worked out how to sing "I Am The Walrus" 12 different ways?

when ever i have my beautiful wife in the passenger seat... she's gripping the door handle in fear, squeeking and waving her other hand about... and everything else that distracts you out the corner of your eye
all because a lorry changed lane 1/2 mile ahead on the motorway...
dread to think what she'd be like a mountain pass!
