I know this is a REALLY long shot and I don't even know the proper name of this piece of music but I heard it on Classic FM and it was absolutely wonderful. It was a guitar piece and the only words I could catch from the presenter was something along the lines of 'La pecciata; La spaniola (Espaniola?)'. Does anyone have a clue as to what piece of music it might be? I'll listen to all pieces suggested if it offers the chance of finding the one I'm looking for. I've asked around and googled any words I can think of that sound like the piece I'm looking for, all to no avail. This music just moved me when I heard it. Sorry thats all the info I have to go on but thought it worth asking all you PH'rs before I give up hope of ever listenting to it again!

Can't listen at work so I'm assuming this link is the right one.

Just listened and it's not that one. The piece in question had musical accompaniment to the guitar, probably violin. It was also much slower. Thanks anyway though and please forward me any you think may possibly be the one. I'll keep listening!

Try using the listen again on the Classic FM website and see if you can get the name?

I tried that ages ago, in the week of it being played, but I just couldn't locate it! I've tried everything I can think of to find it but to no avail cos I can't confirm the spelling. Further suggestions? I'm just hoping someone may recognise the misspelt title!

Another long shot but here's a list of composers who write (have written) for the classical guitar

Well, going on the clues of "guitar" and "Espagnol", the first one I can come up with is Suite Espagnol by Isaac Albeniz which consists of a number of movements.

This one is Granados:

And is my particular favourite tune from the piece (one of my favourite classical pieces of music full stop, as it turns out). I can't remember hearing a version of it with strings though.

Maybe also Google Concierto Di Aranjuez 2nd movement.
