I was just about to do some work and in the absence of any CDs to stick on in the background I thought I'd browse Youtuvbe. I stumbled across this sliightly bizzare video of Uli Jon Roth playing Vivaldi. There's some incredible guitar playing and a wondefully Spinal Tap intro. smile

If you're not familiar with him I urge you to look into some of his other stuff. I think he's infinitely preferable to people like Yngwie Malmstein.

Nice.

Preferred his version of Concierto de Aranjuez though.

yes The live version of that on you tube is sublime. There again I'm rather partial to the original too.

What amused me about the Four Seasons piece was the campness of it all with that intro and the silly costumes! They were one minature Stonehenge away from farce.

As Nigel Tufnel once observed, "There's such a thin line between clever and stupid." hehe

Toe-curlingly camp, so it was!

Talking of Aranjuez, I heard a version today by Jose Maria Gajardo del Rey and it was fooking gash hurl. I've never heard a really bad take - by an expert - on that tune, but this one was a shocker.
