Nightwish tomorrow night
Discussion
Well not a bad gig at all, although I did feel that Anette did struggle at bit at times.
I never did get to see Nightwish when Tarja was singing but from the clips I have seen I would say that see was more of a natural (being classicly trained) than Anette.
Maybe have a listen to Tarja's album 'My Winter Storm' to hear her at her very best.

Didn't they end up using some of Tarja's vocals recorded before she left the band to beef up the new album tracks? Sure I heard that somewhere. It seems even the band aren't entirely happy with the substitution.I never did get to see Nightwish when Tarja was singing but from the clips I have seen I would say that see was more of a natural (being classicly trained) than Anette.

I was going to get tickets for this gig when it was first announced (before Dark Passion Play was released) but saw some clips of Annette doing some of the old Nightwish stuff and decided I wouldn't bother going, as it sounded painful.
I bought Dark Passion Play on the first day of release last year and wasn't impressed. The previous album "Once" was lyrically excellent and was classical/opera meets metal. It blew me away on first listen.
DPP lyrically sounded like a p1ssed off rant by someone with the hump (Toumas), the orchestra were lost behind heavy guitars and Annete's voice was uninspiring and in places weak.
I only listed to DPP all the way through once!!
End of an Era DVD is worth getting to see what they were like previously.
