So tonight I watched Markey Ramone, Velvet Revolver and Muse.

Got to give respect to The Ramones – I remember them the first time round – Sheena is a punk rocker is still one of my anthems. They didn’t disappoint for what they do – which was fill 45 minutes with the most songs per set! 3 minutes of punk heaven over and over again – each song started with. 1-2-3-4! PUNK ROCK!

Velvet Revolver. Now I’m a fan of both G&R and Stone Temple Pilots. Unfortunately, the sound man didn’t turn up. What should have been a good natured journey through a bit of Rock was turned into a stodgy shout of nothing. Only until the last few tracks did it come together and by that time it had lost the collective attention of the youth of Dubai.

Muse – An interesting band. Never really heard enough of them to be enthused. Jesus fking Christ! Their first song was worthy of most other band’s encores! I’m struggling to think of a more talented person than Matt Bellamy. Where the hell did that come from! What a performance! I was with a bunch of people that are extremely hard to impress and Muse came on and knocked everyone for six.

The funny thing was that we went for a drink at the hotel near where I live and as we were leaving (waiting for the car) both Matt and Dom pull up and say hello and asked where a certain place is to have a drink! Needless to say I point them in the right direction but had to take the missus home. May sound like a get out but been there – done that – not only do I have the T shirt, I was in the film. Asterix.

Muse are amazing. I've got two of their albums, "Absolution" and "Black Holes and Revelations". It's rare for me to buy two albums by a group and love every single tune on both of them.

They're one band I'd love to see live.

Arguably you have the weakest two albums! Just buy everything they have done its all awesome. And, they are, to my mind, the best live band in world by some distance-seen them a few times and they are just awesome and vv loud!!

I saw them at Wembley Stadium - they're music is very much suited to being played live - a very 'full' sound and quite powerful.

Seen Muse 3 times now, Matt is the most amazing guitarist I've seen and I've seen the best, he thrives on feedback and every time he plays he adds a 'little something' in. I'd love for him to do a solo album doing whatever he wants. Listen to their version of House of the Rising Sun, it's bloody incredible.

Yep, Muse rock don't they. biggrin

They're the best band I've ever seen live and I think I've watched a reasonable variety! What always amazes me is their sheer musical ability and the way they blend elements of quite a few different genres into their songs. There's a sort of trancey element to some of them, classical touches and all shades of rock from melodic indie to full-on metal.

Ok, I think we've established I like them... paperbag

I'm a little worried that the Ramones name is being used still with no original members.....

I saw Muse support Feeder @ the leadmill in Sheffield... and they were terrible. I then saw them support Bush @ the town and country club in Leeds and they were slightly better, but not good.

I remember talking to a friend and him saying how great they were live... I disagreed....Then I saw them at Reading festival.... JESUS... what a transformation!!!! Best live band in the UK.... infact, I cant think of a better live act!

Muse's HAARP arrived in the post this morning - it's been a long wait since Wembley. Absolutely epic DVD.
