Was introduced to this band yesterday.... cool band.

Apparently they have been around for ages but I have never heard of them although they did, I was told, play in London last year...

Why don't I ever get to hear this things before they tour....

Yup... that's the band. Powerderfinger. Have only listened to the one CD but must try to get the others. Was given the CD yesterday to listen to whilst driving home but don't have the cover... couple of really good tracks on it. Was impressed.

Powderfinger are a great Aussie band. Got into them whilst driving around Victoria and South Australia a few years ago accompanied by radio station Triple J (bit like Kerrang or Xfm over here) in the awesome Toyota Corolla saloon hire car!! Recommend Vulture Street personally, but the singer's (Bernard Fanning) solo stuff is well worth a listen also.

Right, I'm taking that as an invitation thumbuphehe yeah I do think our musical taste is similarly eclectic; Kurt, JJ, Foo Fighters, now Powderfinger... have you been looking at my cds?

I will head down that way next time I'm over (can't get clotted cream over here)

Yeah, they are pretty good. Some of their early stuff (Double Allergic and Internationalist) are pretty good imo.

Seen them a few times live around the place. Do a good show.

i got into them when i was out near sydney with work, My hapiness was the single out at the time, which i bought, then when it came to flying home i saw the album at the airport, so bought that as well.
A couple of us went to see a band called The super jesus whilst we were there... did they ever come to anything?

Usual alternative aussie rock band story, few gigs, decent CD sales then kind of dropped off the radar.

JJJ (national radio station) streams online. Usually get a good varity of music from that.
