wish there were more uk dates. twickers is a bitch to get to and i can;t imagine the sound being that good either - torn.

n e one else going?
I'll be there with my whole tribe (wife and 2 teenaged sons) - we're all going to see the Foo Fighters too!

Got to say that after a long time when I didn't get to any big shows I've been very pleasantly surprised by the sound quality at the big outdoor/stadium/arena shows (Latitude festival, Muse at Wembley, My Chemical Romance at the O2, Kaiser Chiefs at Earls Court) I've been to over the last year or two - compared with my memories of the late '70s and early '80s there's just no comparison!

Killers, Number of the Beast - classic albums
Powerage was OK (best artwork) but can't say I've liked anything they done since

I'm amazed how well they're doing again - Stevo & Nico are some of nicest guys in rock, so best of luck to them, after all they have to put up with Bruce - LOL

I too have to say that 7th son is my favourite IM album of all. Absolute classic, and Infinite Dreams is one of their best smile

I agree with you all, 'seventh' is defo one of the best albums they've ever done. But I don't agree that all the latest stuff isn't that good, 'A Matter Of Life And Death' I thought was brilliant, and seeing it live a couple of years ago was one hell of an experience. Only saw them once before that and that was at the Reading Festival whenj they did the 'Early Years' stuff. Already got my tickets for Twickenham and I have to say, I can't wait! music

Another vote for 7th Son here, with NotB and Dance of Death runners up. Visions of the Beast is great, but why does the music restart every time you move through the menu. Drives me nuts!

Up to 7th Son I used to really like Maiden, might have been an age thing... But since and including 7th son I don't think they have produced anything of note, save generic plod. Would be a laugh to see them but only from a nostalga point of view to recreate my early teenage years! Certainly not worth playing the Twickers cash mind you!

I lost interest in Maiden after Adrian Smith left, and I don't think Janick Gers really fitted the Maiden sound.
I remember going to see them at the Manchester Apollo and they were fantastic. Only time I ever got to see them.
My personal fave albums are Powerslave and Somewhere in Time.

Will have to dig them out the old vinyl in a couple of weeks when we finally get moved.

Loved everything up to 7th Son.

Didn't really get on with the Blaze stuff or the stuff without Smith. Like their newer music but I hate the production makes them sound like bootlegs IMO.

Probably the best and most consistent rock band of all time though.

Lame production on Somewhere In Time?!!

It sounds ing epic!

I remember when that came out I bought it on LP and my dad had just bought a Linn Sondek LP12, even my old man who hates everything that isn't classical/opera was impressed with how big it sounded!

Nowadays they record the whole band live in the studio in an attempt to recreate their live sound, to me I'd rather have an uber polished studio sound and have the live sound on their live albums.

True, but from a production point of view I can hear little difference between SiT and SSoaSS.

You do know that he's back in the band now, right? wink
