a slight......... delay

Firstly, hope i'm posting in the correct forum - this seemed most appropriate.
I have recently acquired a spendid samsung 37" 1080p lcd tv. My problem is that, when i connect an audio out feed from either my sky+ box, or dvd player to my amp, the sound from the tv is milliseconds ahead of the audio from the amp, creating an auditorium echo effect. Just to throw a curve-ball, this echo effect didn't happen when i had my old crt tv in place of the lcd.
The sky box is connected to the tv via scart, and the dvd player via hdmi.
I have also tried taking the audio feed from the tv, but i still get the same delay. Weird.
I'm at a loss and am open to any suggestions.
Thanks

I don't know if this is relevant, but the digital signal is slightly delayed compared to the analogue signal, so if you're getting your pictures from one signal and your sound from the other they'll be out of sync.
thanks mitch.yup - done a bit of digging, and it is down to the digital signal processing being done by the tv. i need to invest in a proper amp that accounts for such and allows me to apply a signal delay.
