I had an e-mail come through from ClassicFM a couple of weeks ago which included a linky to something called "My ClassicFM". Now, I don't know if anyone else has dicked around with this but I started having a look at it earlier on; and it's really pretty good!

There are six dedicated "channels" to choose from including "smooth", "opera", "baroque" etc and when you choose a channel, it plays pieces of music of that particular style and composer. It also offers you the choice to "rate" each composer and tune on a scale of 1 to 5, and a "ban" option for those tunes / composers that you actively dislike (I've got Vaughan-Williams as a 5-star fave, and banned Gershwin's piano concerto).

So basically you end up compiling a catalogue of music that you love, without being interrupted by blithering idiots like Simon Bates, ads for M & S, and requests from Miriam in Eastbourne for the Harry Potter theme because it's my grand-daughter's first birthday, and she loves it.

Recommended.

Isn't it frustrating when it cuts off though?
I've not timed it, but I think it's after an hour or so. I suppose it's to save bandwidth when people just start it and forget about it, but if you're relaxing or concentrating with it playing in the background and it just stops it frustrates me.

Excellent, no more GGR bloody Bloomer or whatever they're called leaching money off people for injury claims!

Do they still have late night Lisa? She was quite a good post-pub chillout.

Got bored of relaxing classics at 5, relaxing classics at 6, relaxing classics at 7, relaxing classics at 8.... etc.
