Andsnes at his best playing the favourite movement from my favourite piano concerto. Just sheer class.
And Stephen Hough "warming up"

Even as a guitar player, I love listening to a well played Steinway. Thiboudet, Ashkenazy, and Lang Lang are others I love to listen to.
Care to offer others examples of great piano and pianistas?

What a ridiculous statement to say about Elton John, you may not like his music but there is no denying his talent. Although admittedly he hasn't really produced anything other than crap since the 1970's.
I'm a huge elton john fan. He's no piano genius though, just a good player.Oscar Peterson of course, who sadly passed away this afternon.

Stephen Hough - Git!
I play piano.
Using a motoring analogy, his playing would be a Ferrari, whereas mine would be an old 1970s kiddies' pedal car.
With a wheel missing.
And possibly broken steering.
I'd be fingering the wheel and thinking, "how does that fecker work then.....????"I play piano.
