What are you using to get the guitar signal into your pc ?

I use an old line6 guitarport, and the software that comes with it. Its a usb device, works well, simple, and sounds ok. Think it was about £50 on ebay a couple of years ago.

I've had recommendations of more modern stuff called Guitar Rig and Amplitube, probably worth a look at those two as well.

I have a line6 guitarport too which is OK for a £50 ebay punt.

The other stuff mentioned above needs a high spec sound card

I use guitar rig 2.

Once I used it I sold a boogie and a Trace amp. no longer required.

I found that the M-audio black box was a good way to get the guitar noise into and out off the 'puter. Plus you get a neat wee drum machine and some good effects thrown in.

If you get the latency down with some good asio drivers it is fantastic. Im sure a bitorrent search would let you try it out before shelling out the hard earned.

Thanks for the replies, time to do a bit of torrent shopping methinks.

I've not played for quite a few years and the old H||H IC100s is currently with the doc getting the odd hernia fixed and new speakers are required.
