Can you think of one?

The Pretenders one isn't bad I suppose, but that's about all I can think of.

IMHO, the Pogues & Kirsty McColl is the best one.

With Frankie Goes to Hollywood a close second - although it's not technically a 'xmas' song

I actually quite like the Greg Lake (I Believe In Father Christmas) and Mike Oldfield (In Dulce Jubilo) ones... paperbag

And Slade... just for the sheer naffness of it...

The Pretenders and The Darkness are the only ones I would suggest.

Fails on the "that aren't sh1t" criterion IMHO.

As well as seconding or thirding Fairytale of New York:
Chris Rea's Driving Home For Christmas.
Thank God It's Christmas - Queen?
The Waitresses?
Wham's Last Christmas.
All I want For Christmas by that squeaky bird who had a breakdown.

Greg Lake was always my fave xmas track.

As an aside, I still own an original 45 of Slades Merry Xmas, from the very first release.

Yes indeedy.

With a honourable "first loser" to Kirsty & The Pogues.

Can't find it just now but I'm sure there was a "can't stand that pogues+Kirsty record" thread on PH this time last year.

It's a good tune. Appropriate that a traditional Russian drinking tune got associated with Christmas beer

I've got abother one and I'm surprised not one pistonhead suggested it:

Beach Boys - Little St Nick.

To the tune of the classic Little Deuce Coupe:

Well, way up North where the air gets cold
There's a tale about Christmas that you've all been told
A real famous cat all dressed up in red
And he spends the whole year workin' out on his sled.

Just a little bobsled, we call it Old Saint Nick
But she'll walk a tobogan with a four speed stick
She's candy apple red with a ski for a wheel
And when Santa hits the gas, man, just watch her peel.

He's hauling through the snow at a frightenin' speed,
With a half a dozen deer with a-Rudy to lead,
He's gotta wear his goggles 'cause the snow really flies
And he's cruisin' every pad with a little surprise.

Well I'd heard of it slightly anyway. Am I old?
