I'm getting grief about christmas stuff....

So I found these..

http://www.firebox.com/product/2002?src_t=cat&...

or

http://www.voxamps.co.uk/amplug/

which will be great as I intend to start playing again.

I already have a vox ac 50 which is utterly stunning so I know and love the vox sound but I wondered if the USB link thing would give me more options...

Your thoughts, experiences etc are always welcome...

(if it will make a difference I'll be using a Jap squire strat, Ephiphone Sheraton and an old Burny Super Real with whatever I get)

Interesting, but I'm looking for stuff around the £40 mark.

Anyone used the vox?

There was a review of these in Guitarist either this month or last month and they really rated them as what they are. If you're only after that kind of sound then I'd be tempted to get one. They seem to be primarily aimed at practice with headphones because they've only got a 3.5mm jack I think.

Cost £30, includes a tuner and sounds great on the clean setting. The overdrive setting needs some adjustment of the tone and volumne together but you can get a good sound.

Doh thats making things harder smile

So, I want something that I can use with headphones so I can have a crafty strum without waking the house.

The orange micro crush would be great as it can do that but will let me make a little noise..

The vox amplug looks really simple but no speaker....
The usb link looks interesting and would let me use a pc to record but I'm not sure I'll ever want to do that..

http://www.djkit.co.uk/product.php?id=1761&hig...

So it is looking like the voxamplug or the orange micro crush...

But what about ..

http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/shop/flypage/pr...

so confusing...

I guess whatever I get needs to be..small and easy to use..

Thoughts?

How about a Roland Cube? Cheap amp with a very good jazz chorus (obviously) like clean and the other sounds are passable for noodling with in front of the telly.

Yeah, I had one of them for a while some time ago. Bloody nice piece of kit! Would definitly recommend a look at one.

..Or you could sell one of the TVR's and buy thisthumbup

I'm off to the US in a couple of weeks for Christmas. Thoroughly intend to bring back an SG with me!
