I'm rocking out to Motley Crue's "Smoking in the Boys Room". I know I shouldn't be but I can't help myself. Anyone else have any musical confessions? Stuff you're somewhat embarassed to listen to but secretly like?

I have more than my fair share of these smile

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7sIzWKHGwQ - this is so hopelessly mired in mid-'80s synth-driven, sappy-lyriced nonsense, but I still absolutely love it. The whole album, for that matter. While we're ticking clichés, check out the double-necked guitars. Rockin'!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tDgzBd2hD4 - this song has now reached the creative doldrums of languishing around on "The best rock album in the world... EVER! Volume 23" as disc two, track twenty, which is hardly a position of respect. Try to ignore the "period" sound quality and what I'm fairly certain is the studio track with a few "as-live" sound effects dubbed over the top.

Two overly sentimental and ridiculously long rock numbers - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siBoLc9vxac and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37GrbCUvZEM .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELd9r7wJw3M - I also like this a lot and I'm not even sure why. It's basically that it's such a well-crafted pop song, I think. Writers and producers have been using this as a crib sheet for probably a good quarter of everything that's been near the top of the charts since.

And finally, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zy6bR0CLDhA is a particular favourite of both me, and compilers of cheap K-Tel '60s compilations. It's made all the better by the endearingly amateur performance on that early live recording.

Oh dear tongue out

Geeky electronica. Flicked my switch in my early teens, and it's still good for me:

I recently bought Tiffany's greatest hits on CD. I just can't help but like her harmless little tunes, but everyone who sees it has a good old laugh at me.....

Plus, nostalgia, as that flame-haired lovely had quite an effect on my puberty.

Awesome cover, that one. Another one that 'trancends the original'. Love Dr Feelgood... erk!

Don't worry about it, I went to see them support Bowling for Soup last month. They're not exactly Led Zep but they're bloody good fun biggrin
