Dont know if this has had a mention but heard Snowpatrols 'Run' being covered by a female singer on radio 1 livelounge and sounded amazing. Stopped work to listen and just as it finished someone talked to me and i missd the singers name. Was gob smacked later to find it was X factors Leona Lewis. Any preconceptions i may have had about this girl are gone, fantastic talent(and pretty fit as well). Well worth listening out for or downloading IMOsmile

Agree it is very good.

30 seconds to Mars (I think that is correct) were in a couple of weeks ago and did a great version of Stronger (Kanye WEst I think) I hopeless at remembering titles that go with artists!

Just checked, I was right on all counts biggrin

Murdering a Snore Patrol song would be the equivalent of digging up a corpse that had been dead for 57 years and sticking a cocktail stick in the ribs.

A good voice that's had any chance of a credible career ruined by being part of the Cowell shite-producing machine.

Seems to be going well for her so far. And they took their time before releasing this single rather than the usual trick of rushing out 3 or 4 songs after the win. I wasn't over impressed when I first heard it but it has grown on me.

Not the best voice for the song, IMO, but have to say she's made it her own in a very nice way. Really, really good. Turned a great song that i'd heard once too often and got bored of back in to a great tune again smile

Her version of that song is brilliant. Snow Patrol are the dullest band in the world but the song itself is ok and that version is much much better than the original.

Also, whilst I'm not really into the type of music Leona sings, her voice is incredible. X factor got lucky last year as she is the most talented person that show has ever turned up. If they market her properly the US will go mad for her and she'll be huge!

Don't know much about her or her music but heard her on Children In Need earlier and she reminded me of a young Mariah Carey so I reckon you're right about the US going mad for her.

Once heard Travis cover Britney Spears "Hit Me Baby One More Time".

How such a crap tune could become such a great song had me stunned for a while.

I've heard Travis do that, and its great. Having said that 'hit me baby' is one of the best pop songs of the last decade.

Still think Snow Patrol still are utter bores, listening to one of their albums is like listening to the same durge x 10... in my view!!

I thought that her version was horrid. I've never been a fan of Snow Patrol, feeling that they are depressing and slightly tedious, though when I hear some of their songs, I can't help but sing along.

This Leona Lewis version of Run was the most boring cover since every song that Jose Gonzalez has done.

Well what do you expect from someone trying to cover a song from the most boring band in the history of the universe.
