I'm looking for suggestions for workout music for the gym. I don't care what music is suggested as long as its upbeat quite fast and no long slow building intro's. Powerful motivational lyrics where possible. And please do list the obvious stuff too, because I'm hopeless at remembering even the most common song titles.

All suggestions welcome. Try to keep the p1ss taking to a minimum too smile

Cheers drink

For me, it's always Trance. Able to keep at 12km/h on the treadmill for a long time with it. Soaring synths, massive breakdowns and pounding beats - it's got it all.

I train well to ear splitting drum and bass, or a style of music called "gabba". I would never listen to either style when i'm not training as it's not particularly easy on the ear. Try the website www.breakpunks.cz . Click on the Audio tab and you can download all the mp3 tracks. It's all drum and bass or breakbeat stuff. My fave is http://kr-tekk.rulez.cz/Raster-Supersonic_Jam.mp3 which is about 70mins non stop and has a few great tracks. Keeps me going for ages!
With regards to the gabba side of things, there is a group called Autechre who make this gabba stuff, it's sort of a series of fast clicks and glitchy sounds which can work quite well. They do one great track that i actually don't know the name of and it's the only track of theirs i have. Sorry!

I'm not sure it's sensible to to admit, but Electric Six always works well for me on the treadmill or cross-trainer!

All you need is the Rocky theme music. On repeat.

I hear a montage works very well too hehe
