If you have any music you want to recommend to people - this is the thread you need.

Leave links to songs on youtube,or you just want to talk about a band you think we should be listening to.

This is the place biggrin

I'll start by recommend a rock indie band called 'Reverend and The Makers', if you like the Arctic Monkey's, you will love these.

Mamas Boys - a long defunct Irish rock band in the 80's.

I think this live song (Runaway Dreams) epitomises the band and their music.

Brilliant! I'd forgotten about them.

Opeth - The Grand Conjugation, progressive metal, jaw droppingly technical with an ear for melody not normally associated with the death metal genre that this band orginated from.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AY5LRReFYus

and...

Down - Stone The Crow, good old fashioned southern rock mixed with early '90s grunge with a dash of doomy, Sabbath style metal.

While were on the topic of ock, Guns n Roses really stick out to me to be one of the best rock bands.

Heres a few of their songs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ns59Bmqpms - Don't Cry

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oobDQ0vdm8M&mod... - Sweet Child of Mine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsrDv3K7RNI - Paradise City

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcWTTs8QVRc - Knocking on Heavens door

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgC4-EDq300 - Live and let die

Enjoy biggrin

Seeing Tool live at the Brixton Academy was a revelation for me. I've seen a lot of respectable stuff out there but this band's musicianship, technical ability, uniqueness and sheer bowel rupturing power absolutely blew me away.

They're very artistic, the guitarist is also involved in the film industry and directs all their videos.

Dave Matthews Band. Massive in the US but inexplicably unknown over here. A proper hardworking band, touring every year with more live albums than studio albums. Live shows are absolutely epic.

Try these from Black Stone Cherry:-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ch-4Iu9hd2k
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezgbKwxLs-0

Saw them in Portsmouth last Monday; seeing them again in London on the 31st. Great band (especially as they're only about 22).

Great night-driving music: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3xEtJt7pjj4

My favourite classical guitarist Simon Dinnigan (and there is not enough of him on YouTube): http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8z2ptiznGMY

My favourite composer, my favourite classical tune, set to a wonderful film: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=f-kWBOvfwdg

Good happiness summer driving stuff: [url]

This list - of course - is not exhaustive!
