We are having a bash and need some ideas for good dance tunes. Please make some suggestions.

Cheers.

If its a general party for all folk instead of just hardcore ravers, I suggest Booty Luv - Don't mess with my man. Gay as you like but people will dance to it like there's no tomorrow.

two that will always get crows going, hot action cop fever for the flava and cypress hill jump around...basically any sort of vaguely decent music with a decent beat will do the job if mixed well. Pendulum slam always goes down well as well, depending on age of audience.

For something a little different, and a little old, try

"Down in the Bottom" by Howlin' Wolf, which played loud is one of the most exciting, danceable records ever.

Venga Boys are good for this type of party - needs to be nearer the end though as their songs invariably induce a state of pure mentalism from drunkards and thus, use lots of energy in an all or nothing/end of party kind of way.

Sash - Encore Une Fois

100% guaranteed to start the party, though slightly cheesy.

The cheesier the better... Abba, Kylie and Steps will get the girls on the dancefloor and then a couple of recent hits and beers will get the guys to follow. Drop in a couple of R&B modern classics and away you go smile

If the DJ plays stuff he/she likes instead of the crowd, or goes too hardcore then it usually clears the floor quicker than Cillet Bang..

(I used to do it at weekends)

I would recommend Justice's album, cross...Just got it and it's full of pretty heavy electro dance type stuff. Sort of Prodigy meets Daft Punk. In fact, they used one of the tracks on the 'CHAMPION - ICEMAN - ROOKIE' montage on the Grand Prix yesterday...

Edited to fix weirdness...
