Now, I play the geetar (I'm no Vai, but I generally know where to put my fingers on the 'board as such), but I love listening to a piano played well as much as I enjoy listening to a well played guitar.

Today, I heard for the first time Chopin's "Berceuse" in D Flat cloud9 and I think I've found my favourite piano piece:

Others that flick my switch are:

Greig Piano Concerto
Beethoven Piano Concerto no.5
Chopin Piano Concerto no.1
Claire de Lune
Mozart Piano Concerto no.21

Any others that I should know about???

Agree with all yours.

My favourite piano piece is probably from 5 minutes and 35 seconds onwards of Gary Numan's 'Please Push No More'. Just piano, nothing else. Awesome IMO.

My father used to play (very well) and as a child I grew up to the sound of the piano echoing around the house...it really was something very special.
I didn't follow in his footsteps when I discovered 'pop' in the 60's though...

My dad used to play very badly. (actually, that's unfair - he said he played badly, I would say average).... so when I was a child, all three of us (me and my two brothers) started piano lessons - I was the only one who stuck at it - giving my father immense pleasure, as he gave up early when he was a child.

I'd never really thought about the sound of a piano echoing through the house, as it was always me that was playing it - but I can imagine what you mean.

When baby Meeja is old enough, I want him to learn, and hopefully to stick at it.... there is something incredibly theraputic about playing the piano.

Having said all that, I really wish I could play the guitar!

I play the piano, though I am pretty rusty as I don't have one at the moment (a situation that is soon to be rectified with any luck).

Some nice choices in your list there. A few more suggestions:

Rachmaninov's concertos especially 2 and 3. Adagio from No 2 played by the man himself.

Prokofiev Concerto No 3 - slightly more modern style, and bloody difficult - http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=-1297744...

Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No 2 - Very well know piece, but good fun. http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=86977083...

Beethoven Piano sonata No 14 is also well known, mostly for the 1st movement, I like the 3rd movement best. (2nd mvt for completeness).
ETA - if you notice the odd mistake in the last movement, bear in mind that Wilhelm Kempff is 80 odd in this recording.

I was trained to play classical piano when i was younger,Chopin is by far the best out of the lot of them, really melodic,Berceuse mentioned in the OP is fantastic,so relaxing and beautiful. Then i'll stick on some ACDC and satisfy the other side of mehehe,or crank my amp and geetar up!

Rather nice, that; very Einaudi-esque!
