For me it's got to be 'Music For Supermarkets' by Jean-Michel Jarre http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_For_Supermarket...

In 1983, he was asked to compose the background music for a supermarket themed art exhibition the works of art on display would be auctioned off afterwards. Inspired by this he decided that the music accompanying the exhibition would be a one-off as well, and thus it would have only a single copy pressed to be auctioned for charity. After the exhibition had ended the master tapes and plates were destroyed, making this the only existing copy.

Before it was auctioned off it was played in it's entirety on Radio Luxembourg (AM Radio) of which I have a crappy recording!

Although it's extremely unlikely I've always hoped that somehow a copy had been made and that one day I'd get to hear this record properly.

So it got me thinking, does anyone else have a special coveted album/recording that they'd always lusted after owning?

Trust me I've been searching for years, if there is a copy, no-one is sharing it.

I know you've probably been here - Beware of copyright infraction! which is probably the recording you've got anyway.

Mine is slightly better than that one, but still of the AM broadcast.

Also quite fancy the single Baltimore by Myra-Ellen (Tori) Amos, recorded back in 1979, saw it for sale once at www.eil.com for £10K!

Wild by Redshift, as it's the only part of their recorded output that I don't own, at least the only part that I'm aware of.

Thanks, Andy,

I use GEMM, but am a bit wary of getting in vinyls from the American state. They usually cost more and the postage is a killer. e.g. Chrome - Alien Soundtracks is $129 +

Sometimes I have found listings that when I order evaporate into out of stock. Some sellers list vast lists of everything and anything, and try, oh, it's not in stock, we'll order it for you. No you won't it is out of press now!

But, anyway, I will try GEMM and examine the listings

Yeah

I know it sounds sad but i tried getting it off ebay a while ago but someone paid silly money for this.

It is the TV programme...............The Proffesionals OST as there are a couple of tunes from the show i really want and cant seem to find out what they are.

So if anyone has a copy they want to sell to me, i would be really greatfull.
