Really love this guitar !
Sound is awsome and plays very well.

They're rare. Very very rare. They were only made for a short period of time, as the shape didn't catch on.

I thought they were pseudo-reissues and that the 1950s original never made it into production.

That's right !! A couple were made in 1958 for an anual guitarshow somewhere in the US together with some "flying V" and "explorer" models.
People didn't like the guitar so it never went into production. The "flying V" and the "explorer" went into production and became a succes.
Gibson tried a reissue in the early 80's which wasn't a succes either.
