You might be right. I am quite a JD fan but there are only a couple of NO songs I'd listen to.

No me, always a huge JD fan (showing my age but I remember John Peel announcing the death of Ian Curtis) but I also really like NO, and have probably 'evolved' with them over the years. I've got ever JD and NO album and probably listen to more NO these days, mainly because my daughter loves them too.

I followed New Order from the beginning via Peely at the stage where they were working with Arthur Baker in the electro clubs in New York.

I knew Joy Division but only a couple of tracks it's something I got into later in the eighties.
I find I can listen and enjoy New Order any time of the day but I have to be in the right mood for Joy Division but when I am in that mood boy are they the boocks.

I was too young to appreciate either but have subsequently revisited both and have to say the Joy Division material far out classes New Order in my opinion.

Joy Division stuff seems timeless whereas I think the New Order stuff is of it's time and doesn't really carry well if you do not have personal associations with the songs from your youth.

Will be interested to watch the Ian Curtis biopic when it's released.

Factory Records docu on BBC4 right now.

I think you should add Warsaw into the choice, as this was their original pure incarnation.
