Roger Rettig RIP

Roger died a few weeks ago i Naples Florida. He was 83.
He may be unknown to a lot of you, but he was active from 1961.. bavking Eden Kane and then went on to becoming one of the best steel guitar players on the US..No mean feat for a guy from North London. I knew him from working with one of the chaps who played in a band with him ,Brian Hodgson who also had a successful csreer in the business. working with Neil Innes and later in Hogans Heroes with Albert Lee. You Tube has a video of them both Brian on bass and Roger on steel backing George Harrison singing the Pirate song Roger played the guitar on Peter Sarstedts 'Where do you go to my lovely' The extended version is rarely heard. He and Brian along with Rogers brother Peter and Bobby Falloon were also film stars!! They were the band at the end of Carry on Camping....
Roger was an expert on London Transport esp trolleybuses and helped compile the 2 volume set video/dvd of thrm in service.
We spent a lot of time chatting after meeting up again 25 years ago. Rest well Roger. It was an honour to know you
