Very sad to see this being reported; one of the very best gone, but what a musical legacy.

Steve Cropper, guitarist of Booker T and the MGs, dies aged 84 https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx2gqd05geno

Came from the Mussel Shoals era IIRC
So solid in is base lines but never showy.
One of the band in the Blues Brothers film
Played with everyone from Otis (one of my all time favourite singers) to Rod Stewart
A loss to music.
RIP Steve.

There are great guitar players and showmen and technicians.
Then there are the people who make the bedrock of modern music.
RIP Mr Cropper.
