Doug McCarthy RIP
Discussion
Probably not as well known on here, where it’s a bit more Genesis and Who, but Nitzer Ebb was one of the sounds of my youth and heavily influence NIN and others in the hard electro / industrial world.
Only 58 and killed by alcohol.
Was a great frontman and by all accounts. an all round decent bloke

I saw the news last week...very sad. And like you they were part of my student years and one of the bands that cemented my love of Industrial.
I was toying with going to see the Join The Forces tour in Europe but couldn't justify the expense. If I'd known that within 2 years Doug would be dead and F242 retired (probably partly due to Patrick's health) I'd have made the effort.
May not be as exotic or 'rock and roll' as a drug overdose, but alcohol can be a killer just the same.
