Hey

First time poster in the Music forums!

I am looking to purchase a PA system. I have been asked to get a PA system that will be used in our local village Halls for parties etc. Mostly music (think Spotify/PC DJ stuff) but could be for pub quizzes (but also if people are having parties at home they could be borrowed)

Size wise looking at 50sq m for the hall with capacity of 50ish people and we would like to keep below £350

I have seen things like:

This on Gear for Music

another one here

Alto 2000w
https://amzn.eu/d/dRvQ6sY

Vocal star

I know I’m not going to headline Glasto with these but Any advice would be great

Thanks

Those you've linked will certainly get the job done for you. But none of them will offer a decent sound. But then little will at that price point.

You may think that audio quality counts for little but you'll be surprised at the difference it makes.

If you can wrangle a little more budget, I'd be looking on the second hand markets for something like this:

You'll be amazed at the power and quality of sound these things produce.

Hold a quiz night to raise a few hundred more and your range of quality options will greatly expand.

Can only recommend these, as we use them as band's PA, go for something like that

We have this for our hall:

Used for quizzes / bingo / background music rather than disco etc. it’s fine for what we need. Most recently we added a borrowed sub which makes a big difference.

That’s definitely the bargain basement end of the PA world, nothing you buy new at that price point is going to be fantastic sounding.

As above, something better quality bought second hand would be my recommendation.

Many thanks for the time taking to write replies

We have decided to just keep going with our small speaker at the moment and then get something that will do justice!
