Only those of a certain age will remember Marc Bolan but this was a real shock 47 years ago.

Was much sadder about Bolan's death than Elvis's the previous month. But 47 years, mindboggling. Yesterday marked the 47th anniversary of X Ray Spex releasing their 1st single, Oh Bondage Up Yours. I was so excited and bought it on release day. I was 15. Went to Rough Trade in Kensington Church St after school to pick it up.

There's a vaguely interesting "shrine" next to the tree in Barnes that ended his career, and shortened that Mini.

Still consider Electric Warrior to be an essential album for anyone interested in the 70s… lyrics are extraordinarily well crafted and the music has be not dated
