Apologies if this has already been done, but this is not the 'Gig Plans' thread OR the 'Bands you wished you'd had the chance to see' one OR the 'Bands I saw who were great and I want to see again', but a thread of bands you want to, and might still have the chance to, see.

My list is pretty short at the moment :

Ting Tings - Had a gig booked once, but they cancelled it and have hardly ever appeared live since, but they do have a new album out soon, so who knows?

Belle & Sebastian - Again, had a gig booked and it was cancelled (the whole tour was, due to COVID, I think), but sadly the local gig was the only one that wasn't rescheduled when the tour was back on.

I had Confidence Man on the list too, after last year's Glastonbury set, but I thought this year's looked pretty lacklustre on TV (I don't go to festivals), so they're not on the list at the moment, but might get back on it if they ever play somewhere local-ish, but outside central London.

So, who do you want to see and still hold out some hope of doing so?

M

PS Bands can mean solo artists, too, of course, but I can't see how to edit a thread title.

Tycho - rarely comes to the UK, has played Scotland once and I was in the USA at the time.

Morgan Wallen - have recently discovered country music and pretty much love everything he's done so far. He's playing locally this year, however I discovered him too late and the only tickets available are £225 upwards - each.

U2 - would love to see them on a '1980s releases only' tour!

Oasis - just to take me back to my Uni years as I was a fan but never managed to get hold of any tickets.

Tinnitus will prevent me from attending any "proper" live sets these days.

But I'd love to go to a Pearl Jam gig

ELO. But in their 80s format which I consider to be the last time they were an actual band and not 'Jeff Lynne and friends'. Sadly, not a possibility.

The The have a new album coming out soon and wouldn't mind catching them live.

The latest Apple AirPods are supposed to be excellent for live music.

Ozric Tentacles

...not a big ask as they frequently tour the UK at small venues but for some reason they have been completely off my radar until I recently 'discovered' them

I'd like to see The National, but they are too big now and only play large venues which I'm not a fan of. Maybe Manchester Orchestra but I'm not sure if/when they'll do the UK next. Other than that, there aren't too many bands I haven't seen that I have wanted to.

I'd say Tenacious D but God knows what's going on with them at the moment.

Perl Jam and the Foo Fighters for me. I never seem to quite get around to it. Oh yes, and Joe Bonamassa too. I didn’t get off my backside quick enough for his recent UK shows. Besides, he was charging a fortune for tickets, which put me off somewhat.

Ting Tings - I really like them.

They've got a new album coming out and have had a kid together, finally admitting that they were an item all along, despite giving the impression at their height that they weren't, presumably as that made Katie more desirable to indie blokes like me, LOL!

I'd really like to see The Airborne Toxic Event, handily they announced yesterday a one-off gig in London, I will be going.

I would like to see Arcade Fire at a festival again, they did a gig at Brixton Academy the other week but it was something like 90 quid a ticket, so for the first time ever I baulked at the ticket price of a band I love, too spendy for me, so I stayed home and saved a few quid.

Which is just as well, as I've just been quoted a massive SMG gearbox repair bill on my M3!

I’ve loads that I want to see (and that few will have heard of). Top of the list at the moment are Wreckage, Turnstile, Friends & Failures, dughouse, Blow Your Brains Out & Diesel Boy.

Not many “big” bands that I’m particularly bothered about, but I do want to see Avenged Sevenfold, maybe The Killers and Duran Duran. Never seen Mötley Crüe, but their one for a festival & only if it’s a short set of their first couple of records.

Few others that would also be good to see: Black Flag, Leftover Crack, Youth of Today and Sacred Reich. I missed Yungblud at Download a couple of years ago, so he’s still on the list. I’d also love to see Neil Young and Ryan Adams one day.

On the unlikely-to-reform-but-would go if they did: Sonic Youth.

biggrin went off piste avoiding doing something else that I should have been doing so it escalated, and then realised that there were loads & loads of bands I still want to see.

Forgot to add 7 Seconds and Lana Del Rey and Chain of Strength and...

Breaking Benjamin - sadly (IIRC) the lead is scared of flying so the chances are slim. Just to rub salt in the wounds we're in NYC when they've got a gig there - but the logistics (and $$$!) sadly don't work out.

I'd also like to see the Mare Luna festival in Germany at some point...

I'd like to see the Eagles sometime....

However, the older I get, the less hassle I want. Going to the 02 (for example) is a 4 hour round trip with a very large dollop of hassle involved - so whilst my finger sometimes hovers over a ticket purchase, I usually bail out.

Toadies - they're Texas based and seem to rarely play outside of Texas, let alone the US but they're one of my favourite bands who I've never seen so it might mean a long weekend to the US sometime to catch them!

£400 to watch them mime to some numbers......no thanks.

To think I once paid £2,50 to see Led Zeppelin and Deep purple in their prime.
