Duelling sitars by Bill Bailey-Tinselworm.
One more light by Linkin park.
Both of these i found just after my mum lost her fight with Alzheimer's in 2020 and emotionally have opposite effects.

Smile - It's my Life by Dr Alban - stomp around like an idiot, silly grin on my face shaking my arse like previously mentioned idiot

Sad - Wish i Could Fly by Roxette - was a fan of theirs for years but no longer an entity sadly due to Marie Fredriksson passing away

Not my usual style of music i listen to but meet the criteria

Sad song - Nutshell by Alice in Chains.

A lyrically sad and emotional song as it is, but particularly so on the MTV live unplugged version which is Layne's last live performance with the band, and he is clearly in a bad way.

Happy song - Alright by Supergrass

Just a simple, cheery pop song that it's impossible not to nod along to.

Happy: "I believe in a Thing Called Love" - Darkness, "Tiger Feet" - Mud, "Happy" - Pharrell Williams

Sad: "Without You" and "Hero" - Mariah Carey (actually love both songs, but they are a bit funereal...)

Sad - The Air That I Breathe by the Hollies.
Always associate it with a girl I knew who shut herself in her dad's car in the garage and asphyxiated herself with the exhaust gases after years of abuse.

Smile - no particular song

My wife and I were listening to the Radio the other morning and a guest chose the Proclaimers , Wherever you roam . We have grown up kids .

I did not paste the full lyrics but we read them together and it made me so sad and her so happy in equal amounts . Lovely song great words.

And I'm not going to be there
And you won't always take care
But my love goes with you
Wherever you roam
No matter where you are in the world
You're still my boys, and you're still my girls
And my love goes with you
Wherever you roam

Two very fine songs, although I wouldn't file Scenes From An Italian Restaurant in the sad category. Captain Jack on the other hand....

yes

That unplugged version is both poignant and beautiful in equal measures.

Happy = The Music Sounds Better With You : Stardust

Sad = Comfortably Numb : Pink Floyd (played in the key of B minor, so "sad" by definition). But that lyric, '.....the child has grown, the dream is gone' fking kills me every time.

Sad- lark ascending by Vaughan Williams. Final song at all our close funerals so far.1st heard it on world service-while repairing air conditioning units on a kibbutz in 90s. Blew me away ! (The song. Not the air conditioning unit.)

Personal reasons really. The happy song reminds me of great days in my friends Pizza restaurant back in the day.

The sad song reminds me of great days in my friends Pizza restaurant back in the day and now knowing that they are never coming back.
