Eastwood Guitars… Surfcaster
Discussion
I’m fast approaching the half a century & am thinking of a new guitar as a birthday treat to me. I’ve always had a soft spot for Charvel Surfcasters & have owned a few in the 1990’s. The prices of a good Charvel are through the roof & they’re as rare as hen’s teeth. The Eastwood Surfcaster looks like an interesting option. I’ve had no experience of the brand & what they’re like. The reviews seem positive for them. Anyone had one? Opinions ?

Charvel one here for £988:
https://www.vintageandrare.com/showroom/product/Ch...
"Brand New guitar from private collection, and never actually been played. comes with gig-bag."
I believe that's cheaper than a brand new Eastwood copy (£1,162).
Just a thought....I've no experience of either.
Happy shopping!

Thanks for the heads up…I’ve contacted the seller & see how it goes. EBay & Reverb has a virtually unused one and the same colour for £1900 so that one is a great price. Cheers ! https://www.vintageandrare.com/showroom/product/Ch...

Update?!
Hi, I’ve messaged the seller who is selling on Vintage & Rare. I’ve had no response as yet. If it’s from outside the U.K. it’ll be subject to VAT & import duties & postage so that’ll bump up the price a fair bit. The Denmark St ad has been around for a good while & the guitar was sold some time ago. There’s one on eBay & Reverb (same seller) that’s £1900 which is more than I’d be prepared to pay tbh. It looks very, very similar to the V&R listing, same finish & mentions it’s virtually brand new & unused…possibly the same guitar ?? andySC said:

Same body shape as the traditional surfcaster, £835, but not semi-hollow and two humbuckers rather than either all singles or a mix of the two:

Here's another way of looking at it, FWIW, find the money, get the real thing, the one you want. If you keep it for the rest of your life then the per annum cost should be minimal (hopefully) and it will probably be worth more then than now, so a worthwhile bequest.
If you sell it on in say ten years it will probably be worth more than now, and in the meantime you will have the guitar you actually wanted rather than a substitute.
OTOH if you buy the substitute you won't like it so much and it will depreciate from the moment you get it.
