Country… [gulp]
Discussion
After a lifetime of saying that I can’t bear country music, I find myself fighting disturbing urges….
So far I have discovered that I can listen to this:
and this…
and this…
If I were - you know…. - interested to keep exploring the dark-side, which other artists do I need to listen to and why? I like live performances, much less keen on studio airbrushed perfection…

As another non-country fan, try Morgan Wade

Luke Coombs and Eric Church are two of my favourites along with Chris Stapleton as mentioned before.
Morgan Wallen has some good songs (now he’s been un-cancelled…)
Brothers Osborne for that rock country sound
I implore everyone to listen to anything by Zach Bryan. Some of the best music I’ve listened to this year.

I love a bit of country, old stuff, new stuff, whatever! I really like a lot of Sturgill Simpson's music (apart from the Sound and Fury album)
I recently stumbled across Post Malone covering one of Simpsons tracks, which is about as far removed from his usual offerings as could be, and it's great
Check it

Careful it's a slippery slope into 'folk' next.
Aoife O'Donovan is worth a listen, try the album 'Fossils' and you'll know before the first song if it works for you or not.
I'm a bit partial to 'some' folk too, I've just listened to that and it's good. Aoife O'Donovan is worth a listen, try the album 'Fossils' and you'll know before the first song if it works for you or not.
I can only listen to it in small doses though, as lovely as it is I eventually need something with a bit of get up and go
