Got tickets for MrsC as she wanted to go. I was ambivalent, I don't dislike Abba but I'm not a fan either - but, as above, it was a fantastic show (and I've been to a LOT of gigs). Incredibly well done and yes, it is difficult to believe that they're not actually on the stage. There's a slightly odd bit in the middle (won't say too much) and some lovely touches as well.
Depending on where (ie how high up/far back) you are sitting, don't forget to look up at the lights above the dance floor area, they are also very impressive and change with each song.
Yes, food in the venue was poor. The food area at the venue is open to the elements so it can be chilly! There's a street food market opposite but we didn't try it.
There's no obvious parking nearby (if any?) and the DLR gets a little overwhelmed at chucking out time. Either book a cab, or be prepared to potentially wait for a few trains to fill & go, unless you're out sharpish. The DLR staff do manage it well tho. Most people seem to head towards Stratford so if you can get a route in the opposite direction you won't wait as long. We parked at the O2 and got the tube/DLR, on the way back went DLR to Canary Wharf then hopped back on the tube. Longer journey but less waiting around.

I took the Mrs a few months back, ABBA are her favourite band by some margin. I wasn’t overly excited about seeing it but the tech intrigued me and I don’t mind a couple of their more “disco” tracks.
It was brilliant, hard to explain what it’s like but the whole show is great, the lighting etc is ace and the live band are really good. As mentioned earlier there are people in tears the whole way through. Mental! It’s well worth going.

Treated the Mrs for her Birthday
Concurring with the above reviews.
Absolutely extraordinary and nothing like I expected…
Venue is cool Scandinavian, chic, technology and lighting breathtaking,
Huge Bar, no queues, you can take wine, champagne in etc to your seat.
I would advise getting a seat vs dance floor option.
I thought it was absolutely brilliant, a couple of the transitions between tracks had me (and a lot of the crowd) genuinely exclaiming "Wow".
As people have noted the DLR can get busy at chuck out time but if you time it right (and you're in the right location) you can get out sharpish and beat the rush.
Hoping to go back again soon!

Absolutely amazing!
Not a big ABBA fan but took the Wife for her Birthday.
The tech is spell binding and you really had to pinch yourself that they weren't actually live on stage. Incredible.
I now need to go again just to check i wasn't imagining it all. It's only in the UK for the rest of the year and then off to Europe apparently. Definitely worth seeing.
We went today -bit of a trip, but the Elizabeth line makes for a vast improvement on the tube experience
Echo all the comments above. Quite an amazing show/experience which is unlike any 'concert'
The integration of the tech and lights really is something- goes to show what is possible when the venue is static as opposed to having the break it down and re set-up constantly.
Only down sides were the food (grim) and dare i say it (?!) some of the drunk Karens

Looking at booking a couple of seats for the wife's birthday.
Was going to book at the side/back of the dance floor blocks A to E.
Wifey is concerned about having to look over the dancers and thinks we maybe better further back.
Would she be right? How tiered are the front blocks A to E?

From memory pretty well tiered - you're not going to have a problem seeing over the head of the person in front of you, unless they stand up (which everyone does towards the end). Can't remember how much higher the front row seats are than the dance floor. Also don't go too far to the side as the avatars apparently become a little 2-D if you do, I was told. Was going to book at the side/back of the dance floor blocks A to E.

Went to this at the weekend. As seems to be a reoccurring theme here I'm not a fan but don't particularly dislike them either, and I thought it was brilliant. We were near the back of the dance floor and honestly I couldn't tell that it wasn't real people on the stage. When they showed tight closeups on the massive side screens though they did sometimes look like very high end computer game graphics, track with them in some kind of Tron style illuminated clothes looked a bit fake, but in general it was like seeing them live. I think having a live band and a lot of fancy lighting effects probably helps a lot too.
Transport was no problem, but the time we'd got coats (cloakroom is free) and waited for the loo queue to die down (not too long), the DLR wasn't at all crowded. Loads of people were still hanging around dancing in the foyer, and I think a lot go to the afterparty hotel over the road.
Supposedly Kiss are talking about doing something similar so it will be interesting to see if other bands get in on the idea too. There are quite a few older bands I'd happily to pay to see at this kind of show.
