Went to see Fozzy in Glasgow last night. Incredible performance but LOOOOUUUD. Ears still ringing 12 hours later. For those who don't know frontman is Chris Jericho the wrestler - somewhat incongruous seeing Y2J running around the stage screaming into the microphone. Amazing energy and a wall of sound. Marvellous performance.
The support bands were great too - Scarlet Rebels are from Wales, and did a kind of Super Furry Animals meets Manic Street Preachers set. Escape the Fate are an American band who were trying very hard to be The Ramones meets Mötley Crüe with a twist of Iggy Pop and the Stooges thrown in, to the point where they were almost a parody of a heavy rock group. Was checking the drum kit in case it said Spinal Tap.
The venue was perfect for this kind of music - SWG3 in Glasgow. All standing, mosh pit at the front, drink flowing freely. Great night.
