What song do you embarrassingly turn the volume up to eleven, when you’re driving, making a fool of yourself and anyone who is in the car with you? Mine’s Umbrella by Rihanna, why wouldn’t you? ‘Umbrella, ella, ella , eh , eh….’

“Lil’ devil” by The Cult.

Started 30+ years ago when i used to pump up the volume in my mark 3 escort on the way to undergraduate exams.

Still hyping myself up with it now, albeit in slightly better cars…

See, it depends on the mood and whether I'm listening to the radio or a CD (christ, I'm sounding my age, here)

If Radio 3 plays this:-

Or this pops up on the CD player:-

Then Watts are wound up

Oh, and when I find my ancient recording on CD of a Radio 1 Essential Mix by Oakenfold, this also:-

No, just my fav tune from my favourite band. I have been remonstrated with for playing swing music loudly at times! ( it's not meant to be quiet)

Blowin’ Free by Wishbone Ash.

Brown Sugar by the Stones.

Ain’t That a bh by Johnny Guitar Watson.

And various movements by Vivaldi that I can’t name but absolutely rock! Some elements are in the Four Seasons but there’s a fab piece that was on a freebie cd decades back which is full of attack and body. Not ‘arf as a DJ was once wont to say.
