Great film theme music...
Discussion
I've currently got Gladiator - Now We Are Free playing (actually I stumbled across an hour long loop of this) and I just LOVE this piece of theme music. Just haunting, beautiful, emotional/uplifting (especially if you've seen the film)....
What theme tunes are out there to compare?

The Star Trek soundtracks are usually excellent but the ending to 'Insurrection' is a masterpiece.

Tron Legacy is good by Daft Punk. David Lynch’s Dune has its moments. Interstellar is great. An American Werewolf In London has some belters in amongst the blood & guts. Dunkirk is more Zimmer but still worthy of a mention. Grosse Pointe Blank is chock full of 80’s goodness.
Gallipoli if only for the final scene, Jean Michel Jarre’s Oygene Pt. 2 is a great piece but slightly odds with the rest of the film.

Terminator 2, one of the first soundtracks I bought.
Hackers, must be good, as I just bought the 25th anniversary soundtrack release.
Honourable mention to Funky s
t on the credits of Event Horizon.
Independence Day has a great theme.
Also, pretty much anything Classic FM put on their film music segments.

Cavatina - the Deer Hunter.
The contrast between the beautiful, innocence, of the the piece and the horror which slowly unfurls within the film is truly masterful. Still IMO the most powerful film I have ever seen.
Then dear old Matt Monro in the Italian Job set against the spring time Alps and that fantastic Miura, simply superb and so evocative.

The Ipcress File, The Long Good Friday, Get Carter, Dirty Harry, Bullitt and Le Mans are all soundtracks I love and listen to regularly.
No doubt much less well known than Harry South's TV theme for the Sweeney, the opening theme music to the first spin off film in '76 is a good shout....
