Cheap speakers for keyboard - Recommendation needed.

Hi all,

I got my Nord piano last week and have been practicing so far with headphones. They are Beyerdynamic 880’s so really comfortable but I’d like occasionally for others to hear.

I have some lovely Mackie monitors but they are currently in storage and inaccessible so wondered if anyone could recommend some cheap speakers for the interim. Quality of sound really not that important as this is a 6 month interim so cheaper the better.

Ive got a pair of Presonus Eris 4.5s which I use with my Yamaha MODX7. Just noticed theyre on sale currently for somewhat less than i paid for them if £135 isnt too much. I wouldnt go too cheap or it'll just be junk. These sound reallyy nice with a keyboard and have a bit of welly in them if you want to make a racket

Thanks for that. I may have to go to that price if I can’t find an alternative, but knowing I’ve got the Mackies makes me hate even going to £40 right now

How about used? At least you can flip them for what you buy them for. Set of old gen Rockits are usually cheap.

Probably frowned upon but I ended up with some Logitech Z623 speakers when on offer, which are hooked up to my old 80s synth. Think they were around £70. For computer speakers, albeit with a sub, they sound pretty good and for general playing about with work a treat.

So if you're after some cheap fill ins until you get your proper ones out of storage, a set of cheapish computer speakers might provide you with what you need, either new or second hand.
