Folk Guitar

After thirty years of playing, I bought my first acoustic guitar last month. Nothing special, it was sitting in the corner of a local antiques / collectables shop which wasn't a problem as the intonation and action were perfectly acceptable.

Anyway.

I'd like to join in with the "house" band on New Year's Eve at our local, and they're very folk music orientated. I've already learned three from their set: Copperhead Road, Tell Me Ma, and Galway Girl. For sts and giggles, I've managed to learn She Moved Through The Fair as well.

May I ask what other great folk guitar tunes I should look into, as I'm now drawing a blank and I'm looking to explore the genre a bit more.

Preferably standard tuning, and not too much finger picking (can't be arsed too much with the former, and not too good with the latter)

bit of a classic "Angie" by Davy Graham,
anything acoustic by Richard Thompson,either solo or early Fairport stuff. Be careful with Thompson, he is the best! (dont be put off)
bit of Scottish, King Creosote or Eddie Reader.
bit of Irish, Damien Dempsey or Villagers or Christie Moore or Paul Brady.
Nick Drake, solo Robert Plant, Laura Marling, Martin Simpson.
not necessarily folk but there or thereabouts.
some are getting on a bit but so am I.
Stick in the Wheel or take your Americana pick.

You've reminded me, I do a version of The Pogues' "Fairytale...." on my electric every Christmas! I completely forgot about them in terms of folk music

I've heard the name Steeleye Span, but not listened to any of their material. I shall investigate further.
