Whenever this question comes up, Appetite for Destruction is the first thing that comes into my head. Can't beat it!

Also, the first album by Korn. Don't really listen to them now, but still the best I think.

From the modern era very much this. A great debut where you can listen to every track without skipping.

Another good call. Odd story to go with that album, I first became really aware of it it when Alan "fluff" Freeman played the title track on the Saturday night rock show. I realised I had heard this before, rifled through my Dad's record collection and found the album, so I did what any what any teenager did in the late Eighties/early Nineties and copied it on to tape, so I could add it to my boot leg collection!

Also Dio, Hold Diver. Loads of classic tracks on that album. And the recent Ronnie James Dio - This Is Your Life album is well worth a listen. All covers from some very big bands.
