The Emporium in Coalville is to host its final event on Jan 25th - the final ever Passion. The tickets look to have sold out inside 30 minutes of going on sale - anyone else coming?

I only ever made it there once so it doesn't quite hold the memories that the old Gatecrasher in Sheffield did but that is sad news nonetheless

It seems these days in dance music the trend is all about big one-off festival type events, where the latest flavour-of-the-month producers are banging out half-hour sets of nothing but their own latest radio-friendly hits to an expensive pyrotechnic display.

Here's hoping the whole thing goes full circle and we end up back at the point where people want to get together in big nightclubs and listen to DJs playing long & involving sets, and experience the thrill of hearing new tracks for the first time in an amazing atmosphere
