Tribute bands.

I'm a big fan of tribute bands and I've seen some great ones.
I highly recommend AC/DCUK, Whose Who, the brilliant Small Fakers (Small Faces) and Too Petty (Tom Petty). Samtana are good too. Rolling Stoned are good entertainment and go for laughs as well as musical accuracy.
Of the bigger bands the Bootleg Beatles sell out the Albert Hall and the Illegal Eagles play proper theatres rather than just clubs and pubs.

Think Floyd are also very good, and ReGenesis too.Once saw Dream Theater cover the whole of Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden and it was very good indeed.
Oh yeah! I recommend 'High On Maiden' - seen them a few times now. Awesome.
They all dress like Maiden used to in the 80's and 90's - spandex where applicable! The lead singer, as well as having a voice like Bruce's and doing all the movements, is a short dude too. With a wig on, he's the spit. Turns out the real band endorse these guys, and as such, have given them some of their old real stage props too. So last time I saw them, they had some genuine '7th son of a 7th son' stage props that Maiden had used for real.

The Aussie Pink Floyd Show are one of the best bands I have ever seen, tribute or otherwise.
They are a big-time professional act, touring worldwide and playing major arenas, which puts them in a completely different category to the vast majority of tribute bands.
Their next UK tour is in Feb and March, they are playing all the main arenas, including Manchester, the Birmingham NIA and the O2.
If you like Floyd and you have never seen them, you definitely should. Prepare to be impressed.

My very good friend and regular gigging colleague is the Tom Petty guy in 'Too Petty'... they struggle to get many decent gigs booked in.. I highly recommend AC/DCUK, Whose Who, the brilliant Small Fakers (Small Faces) and Too Petty (Tom Petty). Samtana are good too. well, you can tell him from me that they were brilliant. I'm looking forward to seeing them in Sutton in about March or April. I wonder why they can't get gigs.
