Any old or Anarcho-Punk fans on here?
It was quite a scene in the late '70s and early '80s with all the Crass inspired bands with bands playing in all sorts of squats and weird and wonderful places like the Anarchy Centre in Wapping (when Wapping was like a bomb-site) and the Centro Iberico (Spanish Anarchy Centre)in Westbourne Park.
Just wondering as got a call yesterday asking if we want to go and see The Mob on Friday as they're palying in Tufnell Park.
Too right, must have seen them about 15 times 30 years ago, and Hagar the Womb are supporting which will be a laugh, and I haven't seen them since I was 15.
Expecting a crowd of 50 year old bald anarchists all dressed in black.

And most of them will still be telling everyone esle how to live their lives and follow thier 'rules'
As a punk back in the day i fekkin hated Crass et all , and still do , they took the original punk ethos of reject and live your own life and turned it into a club where you had to wear the right clothes and have the right political leanings
I wonder if any members of Crass are still slum landlords?

Know what you mean, can't say I was really into their politics but did enjoy the music and the variety of bands that developed, and living in London I could go and see Discharge on Tuesday at the 100 Club, Chelsea at the Clarendon on Friday and Youth in Asia at the Centro on Sunday. It was much more about the music than the politics for me. Some of the squatting Anarcho lot took themselves way too seriously.
