Tony Bennett’s duet with Amy Winehouse, Body and Soul, was her final recording before she died of alcohol abuse last year at the age of 27. Bennett does not, however, appear to be in any hurry to perform with her father, Mitch Winehouse, a taxi driver turned jazz singer.
“I wanted to work with Tony Bennett,” he tells Mandrake at the Amy Winehouse Foundation Ball at the Dorchester hotel in London. “I did start to speak to him about it, but he then changed the subject. I don’t know why. He just turned the other way.”
Haha, "I don't know why?" No, I was mystified as well.
