Is there a market for people buying old vinyl? Went into my mum's loft at the weekend and found around 300 old vinyl records, with a mixture of 45's and 75's from the 50's right up to the 80's.

We are going to spend a weekend and go through them and log onto a spreadsheet what we have. Is there an way of finding out what is collectable or worth a few quid, or simply look through the internet and ebay to see what people have sold them for?

eek just done some searching and I might be sitting on a few bob

It looks like my 'newer' (post CD's) stuff is the best priced, it would appear being a die hard vinyl fan had its advantages.

Cheers for that. I'll set up an account and give it a go. I wonder how much they will give me for the Wombles and Benny Hill Albums.

I think that might be the case for these, but there is a large proportion of beatles, kinks, stones etc

Such a shame to chuc them, I have fond memories of each purchase. You may find the rare stuff is wanted but I was surprised as to how little interest there is these days especially in the age of digital downloads. Progress hummmmpppphhhh!
