I can see why, downloading illegally has probably damaged revenue and many new bands don't sell much. Streaming from services such as spotify must damage incomes too, I pay Spotify £10 a month and have done for nearly a year and in place of the 3/4 albums a month I would have bought I now just add a new playlist for the stuff I fancy listening to. i may be wrong, but believe some bands sell their tours to a third party, before they have even gone out on the road and done one gig. band get payed a ridiculous amount of money up front, then down to the 3rd party company to get their money back on the ticket sales, i think.

Made the £7.50 I paid to see Led Zeppelin at Knebworth in 1979, along with four other decent acts something of a bargain.
I realise the days of £20 tickets for top line acts are long gone but those prices are taking the piss.....
(Having said that I paid £95 to see Macca twelve months ago)....

it seems alot of money, but, many would say "the" biggest band in the world, their 50th anniversary, and only 4 shows. think they'll shift the tickets no problem 
shame big business is so important, be nice if the fans that had followed them for years, were rewarded with a free gig. not like the stones need the money is it.

Once paid £60 to see U2 at the City of Manchester stadium (as was then) - which made me wince!
Though that became a relative bargain when some steward on switch off mode just waved us through to the expensive bit at the front by the stage without checking for whatever relvant documentation like he had been previously.
We got lost in the crowd before he woke back up.
But yeah, back on topic. Some prices take the wee wee now.

Ditto (ish) saw them in Sheffield a few years back....can't remember it being anything like those prices! (Otherwise I wouldn't have gone). Absolutely chucked it down....Mick went in to dry off for a while and left Keith to (ahem) sing a few.I've seen them five times....guess that was my last.....Unless....'Coming to a Retirement home Near You'........
Glad I am out of the country when these gigs take place then.
Seen them three times, 1900 was the first. Will just have to live with the memories.
ETA: can't imagine they are going to the expense and trouble of setting up the stage just to play two shows with a three day gap so I'd be expecting a later announcement of further dates 'by popular demand' to fill in that gap.
