Sadly, Brian Wilson was like this at Glastonbury a few years ago. At best you could say he was there, whether he was contributing much vocally or musically was another matter. The backing band were very good though, probably better than the original. It was good to say he had done Glastonbury, but other than that it felt rather uncomfortable.
I gather that they have had a bit of a "disagreement" and various members are sulking and taking their balls home. Probably no bad thing.

Bit harsh Kinky. Brian Wilson is amazing simply to have survived this long! The longer repeat puts them in context a bit more & I thought it was alright. Not great but not worthy of a savaging given the history & age of this band.
In 2004, a few of us went to Glastonbury. It was the year it tonked down with rain & thousands went home on Saturday as the fire brigade pumped out a few million gallons of water & piss from the site. It was a fair bit miserable & we wavered over the whole thing, but on Sunday morning the sun blazed & the Beach Boys struck up. We got our deckchairs out & sucked it all up - those tunes, that unique sound & those harmonies in the sun. It all finally came together & I've learnt to love the singular loveliness of the Beach Boys. Totally unique, no one like them.

PiL for me tonight, Catweazle-a-like guitarist was great, made some fantastic noise.
Beach Boys weren't my bag, I'm not old enough to remember them so the rose tinted specs stayed in the drawer. Muse must be after a Bond theme with that last track they played. Very talented bunch really.
