Well, we've had all sorts of other 'best of' threads but I was reliving a little U2 today and thought that 'The Joshua Tree' has probably the best opening 3 tracks on any album I own.

There are many albums I don't own however, so what are you favourite first 3 (THREE) tracks on an album.

Opening tracks are often superb, even the first 2, but what about 3?

No compilation albums allowed!

Nirvana Nevermind

Greatest album, first 3 tracks blow you away. And the rest is pure gold.

Good call, but I personally don't like In Bloom. However, if Lithium had been track 2...

Contentious point....track 1 is listed as 0:00 and is just a sort of prelude to the album. Does that still count?

Track '2' is good so far though, thanks for the intro to the album, EXACTLY what I was hoping for (broadening my horizons)

Where's the 'like' button on here?? Good choice. However, should we allow narration as a track?

It is more than narration. It is 9+ minutes long. The Eve of the Way... "Dum Dum derr!"
